iTunes TV Tries a Prepaid Episode Service

March 9th, 2006

Apple introduced a new ITunes store buying option called ‘Multi-Pass’ service, which lets users pay in advance for episodes and get a discount for the downloadable shows. You commit to buy the TV shows on a monthly basis. Currently, two shows are available. ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ and ‘The Colbert Report’. Both shows come from Comedy Central.

The Multi-Pass feature allows you to buy the next month’s series of 16 episodes for $9.99, rather than the usual $1.99 fee that is charged for each episode. Viewers can download each episode after it is broadcast.

This sounds like a promising idea especially if the discounted fee holds for more than just the two currently available shows, shows.

Vlogging “Apple’s Video Podcasting” with iLife

January 11th, 2006

Apple has added an new application in their iLife ‘06 Suite called iWeb. It makes it very easy for Mac users to make blogs, podcasts, something Apple is calling photo casting, and vlogs or what they call “video podcasting”.

This could be really cool and help a lot of folks who have great content actually be able to get it out without a lot of technical issues getting in the way.

I ordered the iLife ‘06 Suite today and will check it out when it arrives and give you a report.
