iTunes TV Tries a Prepaid Episode Service
Apple introduced a new ITunes store buying option called ‘Multi-Pass’ service, which lets users pay in advance for episodes and get a discount for the downloadable shows. You commit to buy the TV shows on a monthly basis. Currently, two shows are available. ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ and ‘The Colbert Report’. Both shows come from Comedy Central.
The Multi-Pass feature allows you to buy the next month’s series of 16 episodes for $9.99, rather than the usual $1.99 fee that is charged for each episode. Viewers can download each episode after it is broadcast.
This sounds like a promising idea especially if the discounted fee holds for more than just the two currently available shows, shows.
